Baby's First Haircut

It was time. For the longest time I hoped that Shelby would come around, and just learn to like ponytails, clips and the like, but it just wasn't happening. I would pull her whispy hair out of her face and within an hour, sometimes minutes, the accessory was out and her hair looked more disheveled than it started. I just couldn't stand picking her up from school a single more day with hair covering those baby blue eyes....so I took her to Sharkey's Cuts for Kids and it was fantastic. The staff was great, Shelby was well-behaved and her hair, in my opinion, looks so much better!

Out With the Old

The "Momo" Potty has been retired.  They were always in the way and honestly, Jack and I were getting tired of cleaning them all the time. Also, Shelby was a little bit too interested in her poop....everytime she went, she wanted to stand up, examine, flush, wipe, clean the bowl, repeat. They were cute while they lasted, but we upgraded to these and things have gone much more smoothly all around.

 We also got Shelby a couple of new pairs of shoes. These are certainly not dressy shoes, but great for school and she seems to like the lights when she jumps. Current size at Stride Rite: 9M - hard to believe!

Lovely London Town

Boy oh boy have the last few weeks been a blur. Jumping from my Dad's retirement party, to the abundance of work-work required of me in the office, to my trip, to an immediate leap back into the office....things have been a whirlwind!

London was fantastic. All the hard work and preparation totally paid off. I feel like I represented my Company well and learned a lot along the way. I managed to maximize every moment though and really got out and see the City too. I was SO tired by Friday for my "free day" of exploration, but it was enjoyable just the same. I am SO incredibly grateful for Jack's parents' help with Shelby while I was away....it really gave me some peace of mind and I know it helped Jack.

My favorite part? I would say my ride on the London Eye and my stroll through St Jude's Park outside Buckingham palace on the morning I left. Third favorite....blue sky's!

My Tiny & Jumbo Valentine

I can confidently say that the Schenk family had a very nice Valentine's Day - our hearts were full with love. In the morning, I made a (very) early trip to Alberston's to grab some snacks for Shelby's class. I decided to also bring back some donuts for Jack and a "looooon!" for my Shelby Pie. When I picked Shelby up from school, I found the most adorable little Valentine in her bag; one of my most favorite school projects by far!

Jack and I both finished work a little early on Friday, so he was responsible for a romantic dinner for two on Friday and I was in charge of Saturday date night and babysitter. Both were wonderful....steaks at home on Friday and then authentic Napoleon pizza and vino on the Strip (never happens!) on Saturday.

Sweety Peety

We decided to do an impromptu photo shoot on Friday morning......in the bathroom. Shelby was being particularly adorable and was finally donning the cute hat that G'ma made her. I feel like she is looking more like Jack right now - those cheeks are chubbin' right back up!
