Egg Hunt Part Deux

Last week Shelby's school hosted the most adorable Easter event. Despite my insane work load, I made to leave work 15 minutes early so I could see it and I am so grateful that I did. Not only was I able to see the special Easter activity, but I was able to quietly observe Shelby being herself among her friends. Of course, I know she is happy at school, and more and more each day she is able to tell me what she does at school, but to see first-hand how much she LOVES her teacher and enjoys her friends, warms my heart.

 I watched the class play together for a little while before the egg hunt started. Once all the eggs were swooped up, Shelby indulged in a syrupy, sticky, cold, snow cone!

Peace in Chaos

I love these photos. By Sunday parts of the downstairs were in decent enough shape to have Shelby around without her being in harm's way. Jack hadn't seen her much over the weekend, so we let her color and play with stickers in the middle of the floor and she couldn't have been happier. I love the spirit of an innocent little child.

"Hi Bunny Rabbit"

Those were the first words that came from Shelby's mouth this weekend when she saw the Easter Bunny in our neighborhood. I had no idea what her reaction would be when she was greeted by a giant, fuzzy bunny, but much to our surprise, she was excited!

Our neighborhood organized a free event in the park for all the residents of the neighborhood. I felt it was really well done and very well attended. After a photo with the Easter Bunny, Shelby wanted to eat her newly acquired sucker. I told her that was fine, but that she could not run with it in her mouth. Her response: she sat right in the middle of the pavilion and patiently finished it off - it was classic.

After her sucker, there was a quick egg hunt in the park. It was organized by age group, so Shelby participated with fellow 3-and-unders. I was impressed with the Shelby's instincts for what to do. She just shot out there and started swooping up eggs. Thatt'a girl!

Work in Progress

Our house - or more accurately, our life - as been a work in progress for a few weeks now. Taking out the floor in your house is pretty much like moving..... with no where to go! That aside, the hardwood floor install has been going very well. Last weekend both Jack and I worked very hard on the project and Jack's attention to detail is visable every step of the way.

Are getting married! Brent popped the question this last weekend, and she said yes!  I could not be more excited. Carli is, and always has been, a total keeper and I cannot wait to  have her as a permanent part of our family!
