Can You Tell Me How to Get to Sesame Street

Shelby is not much into characters and whatnot, but she does like Sesame Street. We have several Elmo book and we watch it from time-to-time on TV. I asked her a few questions while we were reading her favorite Sesame Street book!

Get This Girl to The Mountains

Recently, I put one small powdered doughnut hole in front of Shelby and she said: "I eat this snow?"

About a week later, Shelby's class made S'Mores at school/summer camp. I asked Shelby to tell Jack what she did at school and the conversation went something like this:

Me:         Shelby, can you tell Dad what you made at school today?
Shelby:    Yes! Treat!
Me:          What was in your treat?
Shelby:    Crackers. Chocolate. And Snow!!!

I am all for desert living, but I am thinking it's time to get this girl to the mountains....especially if she's thinking doughnut and marshmallows are snow!

Life has kept me rather busy lately, but I wanted to be sure to still get this up. Last month I had the wonderful opportunity to attend my brother Brent's engagement party in California. His fiance's family hosted a lovely celebration for the two of them and many friends and family. Because of other travel we had planned as a family, I went solo on this adventure - a 24 hour zip trip to CA. Truth it told, it would have been a very tricky place to have Shelby because of the proximity to the pool. Had she come with me, I am pretty certain I would have spend 2/3 of the time in the water!

I did not get a ton of photos, but I am grateful for those that I did. I cannot wait for their wedding next summer!

Imagination Station

Adorbale. Simply adorable. Jack constructed and stocked this whole "Imagination Station" for Shelby... baskets, buckets, puzzles, stickers, coloring books, paper, markers and more!  Needless to say it gets daily use and miraculously has managed to maintain the same level of organization that it started with.  Daddy of the year? I think so.

 Some Very Special Visitors

For the last week in July, we had some very special visitor, Jack's sister and 75% of her family - Adam, Dylan and Dominic. Little Davin stayed in Texas with Grandma and Grandpa. And as hard as it is/can be to be away from the little squirt, some trips are just easier toddler free.

Although I was coming off a busy run at work and Jack and I had to work throughout the visit, we still made plenty of time to make memories. Including a cookie face race where Adam aka Uncle Roaaar to Shelby took home the grand prize. Good times.
